You can see on the map how we drove through the country. When you click on a place-name you’ll go to that particular page with text and pictures.

In the 3 weeks we drove about 3500 km. We stayed in every place a couple of days. To do it that way it wasn’t very fatigue. You will become very tired when you drive every day and that is also boring.

The roads are tarred and well kept. The gravel roads are less good kept as we expected. There are no good alternatives for the tarred roads. They dissuade to drive along those gravel roads. We are agreeing with that. The gravel roads e.g. in Namibia are better. Because of that it isn’t possible to make a circular tour throughout the country. The only possibility to do that is to take a ferry at Lake Kariba. But the ferries are very expensive and small (you must book months in advance).

The well known places like Mana Pools and Matusadona are not easy attainable with a normal 2WD car. I refer to the Lonely Planet travel guide to a description how you can get there. It is hard to get there although everyone on the internet (in the newsgroups) says it is easy.
