Fanciers

The last couple of years (free of charge) quite a lot of babies and eggs move to colleague- fanciers. Especially young fanciers and beginners seldom appeal for support without response, and what’s more,  also the buyers in the club auctions mostly leave with more then they had expected to receive.
Naturally it’s highly appreciated if the new owners give a message in autumn what the results with the obtained pigeons were, so this can be taken into consideration while selecting the stock couples.

Some examples of fanciers which booked results with pigeons obtained from René:

F .H. Janssens - Kapelle, Also offspring of the “Walpotduivin” is very satisfying. In september 2006 Frans got a young from “Monty II” from René and placed it on his racing loft. He trained it during winter and raced it as from the first possibility. On the last Saturday of May this sun of “Monty II”, hardly 7 months old, won a price on the Bordeaux-race !

Jan-Jaap Bolier and father  Kees -Scherpenisse, who are very successful with the Schaerlaeckens-bloodlines from Wissenkerke and scored several victories and championships in their area. Their were a.o. overall champion in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007!!!.

Comb. De Kooning - Hermes - Lewedorp: This team didn’t knock on the door for help in vain when they started racing . In their club auction they bought a ticket for one pigeon but after their visit they left with twelve (!) eggs and directly they were successful. Among the babies they breeded from those eggs there were two nestmates which were very talented in racing. One of them raced in his year of birth directly a 5th ace pigeon in the famous WHZB-competition (young pigeons). As a yearling this pigeon also didn’t miss his prize and won several 1st prizes. (see enclosed photograph). Besides this crack they breeded some more usable pigeons from those twelve eggs. Needless to say this team goes back to the source in Wissenkerke on a yearly basis now.

P. Noyelle - Houplines (Fr.) who got in contact with René because he catched one on René’s pigeons which was hurt. He nursed this pigeon (a 100% Ad Schaerlaeckens directly from the loft in Baarle-Nassau and succesfully raced this pigeon afterwards, f.e. the 69th prize of international Pau against thousands of pigeons. This pigeon was his favorite for a couple of years and never failed to win his prize on the 700 km. races.

Mevr. Verwei - Wissenkerke; of course the co-operation also for her gives results. Especially in the 2 day races the influence of René’s stockbirds can be noticed. For a decade this brach of racing was the weakness, but thanks to the offspring of René’s stockbirds nowadays prizes are scored and she even has pigeons with 3 prizes on 3  two day races.  Of course there also are results on the short distances races thanks to the Schaerlaackens pigeons, we only need to mention the ’97 which raced several first prizes before he was killed in action.

M. Kleppe, Kerkwerve: He inserted a young of “Monty I” into his stock and raised several useful pigeons for the long distance races. An example is “Big Speed” which won several races in his nat. centre Zierikzee and partly originates from the Monty-lines.

On club auctions there usually is a lot of interest for the pigeons as everybody knows René always triest o give something from the best or most promising pigeons on his loft. Very often in the summer he comes to the conclusion not to have any baby from certain favorite couples but to have given them away all. Happily he can also enjoy collegue fanciers to race succesfully with his gifts, but the intention still is to reduce the number of pigeons to be given away (105 eggs/babies in 2002 !), as it requires to much planning and result too often in not having enough supplementation himself.
