The Kokerboom or quiver tree (aloe dichotoma) is in fact an aloe. It grows like a tree and can grow up to 8 meters. They are resistant to extreme dry periods. Where nothing will grow there grows a quiver tree. They are quite common in southern Namibia and South Africa. The trees are solitary and it is uncommon when they stand all together like in the Kokerboom Forest.

I can hardly call it a forest but it is beautiful. In the winter, in June and July, they are in bloom. The flowers are yellow.
