General information about the Molentocht History
/ Set-up of the Molentocht History The 1st Molentocht Goes took place in 1989 as an alternative Windmill Run for 25 members of the English 750 Motor Club. This one-off has grown into a yearly international old-timer event with cars which have been disappeared from the streets for ages. Participation is open for cars and motors with a construction year up to and including 1969 with a maximum of 300 subscriptions. Set-up of the Molentocht The
Molentocht Goes shows all aspects of the region Zeeland. The southern side of
Zeeland is bordered by the Westerschelde, and the northern side by the
Oosterschelde. Between
Zuid- en Noord-Beveland various recreation possibilities can be found at the
Veerse Meer. In the unique village Oudland in Zuid-Beveland you will find high
flowered dikes and small by-roads, with a possibility to give way to a flock of
sheep. In short: you will see a beautiful region of the southern part of the Netherlands. Every year we offer you a new route so that new experiences can be gained. In the route we offer various stops, so that after start, finish and even during the run you will have time and opportunities to get in contact with other participants. A binding element in the Molentocht are the many windmills which are characteristic for the landscape of Zeeland. In the route you always visit the city Goes. Via the small streets of the town centre you are guided to the Grote Markt where you can enjoy a drink on the outdoor café while looking at the historic centre. The
Molentocht is always pleased with the enormous interest of the public. Route and
stop places are announced on forehand so that the cars and motors can be admired. Thanks
to the effort of many sponsors and advertisers we can offer the participants of
the Molentocht upon arrival and during the day a varied offer. Between the
distribution of the rally plate and the souvenir at the finish various surprises
will be offered.
