After the last IJspegel (10th of December) the boat was put on the
trailer and transported to Naarden. There a class representative
re-weighed our mumm30.
The 18th of December we received good news from England; our boat was
too heavy and could lose some weight. The mumm30 is an one-design boat,
thus all boats should have the same weight. The builder had placed some lead
correction weights in our boat in order to get the required 1948 kg.
Because our boat has got heavier during the last few years (two paint
jobs and some repairs), we were now allowed to remove the led correction
weights.
After two days of struggling, the last correction weight was finally
removed on Sunday the 7th of January. We also re-shaped the trailing
edge of the keel, to prevent vibration of the keel at high speed. The
repainting of the aft end of the keel required a small tent, to let the
paint dry in a warm and dry environment.
