Car TVR MkIV1800SE. Year first registered 20th November 1967. Purchased
7th November 2003. Colour Royal Red ( a burgundy colour ). VIN / Frame 9/682. Engine
No 18GDRWEM (I understand that the frame number is an unusual one. Any info someone
could give me about this would be very welcome. The car, although in need of
restoration, is VERY original. I of course have the registration document and
original chassis plate).
I purchased the car in 2003. The original owner
had the car from 1967 to 2002. In 2002, he sold the car but the man had the car
a year
and didn't restore it. I then bought it from him with a large history file. Hence
I'm the cars THIRD owner. The car was originally purchased as a MkIV1800SE. The
SE versions had wire wheels, high back seats and a 115bhp engine which had a
single 45 Weber carburettor.
See the book “TVR Gold Portfolio 1959-1986” page 34 ~15 lines down on the right
column. I am given
to believe that my car is one of these 115bhp SE cars.
I said the SE cars had a single 45Weber. As you
can see, mine is currently fitted with twin SU's as per standard
cars, but I DO HAVE the original Weber carburettor and manifold.
