UK Reg; DLX 8 C; Chassis No;  9 / 664. The TVR Club records suggest that chassis number 9/664 was infact the very first Mk3 to be fitted with the MGB engine,  chassis number -663 is recorded as being a 1622cc engined car. "DLX 8 C" has not been used since a minor road accident in 1988 and stored thereafter by the previous owner awaiting restoration. The body has recently been removed from the damaged and rusty chassis and all paint has been carefully down to gel-coat. Body shell and doors are excellent and ready for fitting to the chassis, primer and paint. I have now bought the car and will be preparing it to FIA Homologation standards and securing an HTP with a view to circuit racing. In order to do that I will be stripping and rebuilding the car to ensure that it is all correct and also to help familiarise myself with how it all goes together. I hope to be able to get it on track for the 2009 season.

Update April 2004:

Since acquiring 9/664 in August '08 I have completely stripped the car (it was partially stripped when I bought it). The chassis and suspension was stripped down checked over and repainted. New brake calipers, discs, hubs and bearings fitted. The steering rack had not been shortened so was machined correctly and extensions fitted with the geometry adjusted to eliminate bump steer. All brake lines have been made from scratch with aeroquip front lines fabricated. A dual circuit brake system has been made with the second master cylinder incorporated into the original pedal box and a bias bar fitted. The diff has been rebuilt with a plate slipper and installed. A rear firewall fabricated and installed once the rear lights, fuel tank, pumps etc were installed. New dash panels have been made from scratch and all the wiring installed. A correct 3 synchro gearbox is being rebuilt with close ratio gearset and this will be mated to a MASS full FiA spec. race engine with crossflow head and twin Webers, currently in build. The rear drive shafts aquired with the car had significant play and have been rebuilt with new splined sections. Uprated quill shafts are being fabricated and then the rearsuspension can be rebuilt and installed. Still on schedule to atleast get the car out for testing this season and hopefully a race or two and the end of the season.
