I am restoring a 1961 TVR Grantura Mk2.
Chassis number 7/b/232, Engine number 1B787. I bought the car some years ago
from Steve Reid in the UK and imported it to NZ. The car was a wreck but almost
complete. I am now well into a body off restoration. I have retubed
the chassis, fitted off roader urethane bushes to the chassis for the VW arms
and urethane bushes to the uprights, as I couldn’t get the correct Metalastic bushes. I tracked them as far as the factory in
China who told me they had scrapped the tooling in 1987. I have rebuilt and
fitted the rear suspension and brakes as well as the diff, gearbox and a fully
rebuilt MGA motor with HRG crossflow head. I am
currently looking for the front brake adjusters as they are missing.
