Is this increadable or what?

 

 

The construction (at least a part of it):

 

 

The blue markers in the left picture are the center of the axes when the engine is cold. In the right picture the red markers are the new locations when the engine is heated up. The blue show the original positions.

So, there is defenitaly a difference. VW solved this problem by putting the center wheel on a piston which presses the wheel inline with the others.
