The Pipettes + The Riplets + Monster Bobby Effenaar, Eindhoven, 12 oktober 2006
Last Thursday Sophie and I saw The Pipettes, which was great. I don't think I ever danced that much during a gig, it was so much fun.
Their guitarist also did a solo act, he was actually pretty good. He only used a big computer/synth and a guitar and his songs were all shorter than 2 minutes, but they were fun. Check him out at myspace.com/monsterbobby. The second support act were The Riplets, a female punkband from Rotterdam. They were also pretty good, not a lot of variety in their songs, but they were very solid and female bands always inspire me to pick up my guitar again.
And The Pipettes were lovely! They opened with Sex and did all the songs on their album and some other b-sides and demos (Simon Says, Really That Bad, School Uniform...) The dancing was fabulous and so were their dresses. There even was a drag queen in the audience, haha.
