The Long Blondes + De Nieuwe Vrolijkheid Paradiso, Amsterdam, 7 december 2006
After a short break, the last gig of the year (at least, for me). Showed up early, a bit too early, because the support act was still soundchecking. They were one of the worst support acts EVARRR, Dutch, with a singer who couldn't sing but tried to conceal it with effects, and played weird instruments, some friend/semi-bandmember who just stood on stage doing nothing... fortunately the girl who played guitar could actually play. Oh and they were called De Nieuwe Vrolijkheid. In case you're interested.
The Long Blondes were mucho better though (thank God). Also better than their gig during London Calling. Kate was very charming, really tried to connect with the audience and learned some Dutch words (she could pronounce 'negentien' (nineteen) perfectly!).
The Girl On The Left (still don't know her name) still can't play though ;) and they're not the ultimate live band, their songs don't sound better than on cd, but I still had a good time.
