Jens Lekman + Kim Ki O
Paradiso, Amsterdam, February 26th, 2008

Anneke and I returned to Paradiso in less than 24 hours, after a shopping session at Boudisque (R.I.P.), a trip back to Purmerend due to the forgetting of certain tickets ;) and a delicious dinner at Wok To Walk. The show had been moved to the big hall, but it wasn't sold out which left some space for cute tables and chairs at the sides. We sat down there for a while, watching the support act, Kim Ki O.
Two girls from Turkey making dreamy music with a keyboard, drum computer, cassette deck and bass guitar. Too bad the result was a bit boring and most of the songs sounded the same, but they get bonus points for the table cloth.

At 8:30 the main show started, with an extended opening tune which was reallllly long, like 8 minutes or something. Then the band and Jens finally showed up and he was cute and blonde and wearing a cheery blouse with tulips.

He played a lot of songs of his last album and he told amazing stories, my favourite was the one during A Postcard To Nina (here's a video). He did two encores, the last one was Pocketful of Money which was pure brilliance. I wanted to put him in my pocket and take him home.
