Bloc Party + Biffy Clyro
Vredenburg, Utrecht, April 28th, 2007

First of all, Vredenburg is a weird venue! It has a little floor and lots of steps, you could sit down in little 'benches' and it looked like an arena mixed with a college hall. We got some nice places on the first steps from the floor.

The support act was Biffy Clyro...

...I felt kind of sorry for them, because nobody seemed to like them but then again I didn't like them too much either. I used to love them and I saw them live two years ago, which was great and I even met them and all, but now they played really loud and fast, didn't talk to the audience... Anyway, kind of a bummer.

After a loongggg wait Bloc Party finally began with Song For Clay (Disappear Here)!

They played a mix of songs of Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City, no B-sides or anything (which I kind of hoped for). Everything sounded really good though!

They really looked like they were having a lot of fun, Kele smiled a lot and I really like that. The crowd was pretty enthusiastic, at least the ones who weren't over 30 (because there were a LOT of 'older' people). Lots of singing along, Kele let us sing bits on our own, like "SO FUCKING USELESS!" and the first lines of Helicopter ("North to south", etc.) which was pretty amazing.

Behind us were a bunch of (younger) guys who all were wearing a green Bloc Party t-shirt they probably just bought :P And as you can see, Kele was wearing a 'Choose life' t-shirt, which made me really happy :D

This is what the venue looked like (bad pic sorry). Anyway during the encore Kele crawled all the way up to the side 'ring'! It was sooo cool hahaha, they already said something before, that they were sorry for the people sitting there because they were almost sitting behind the stage, but this way they got an extra quality concert experience!

During the first encore (they did two, which is always pretty lame I think but it's always good to see more songs of course) they played Sunday with two drums :D

Ahh it was so cool. And then they played some more songs and finally The Pioneers (I think...) as the second encore and that was really the end. Fortunately we didn't have to catch a train or something so we had plenty of time to get out. We even saw who had a backstage pass :O and apparently was also there, but I didn't see her.

After we left the venue we got some drinks and went back to my room to get some sleep.
