My car is a 1960 Grantura MkIIa, chassis No 7/f/162 with a 1588cc b-series engine, as fitted to the MGA. The chassis No indicates that it was built to be fitted with a Ford engine, but all the history that I can find shows the car with an MGA engine, as fitted to cars with 'b' in the chassis number. It was built with the unusual combination of lightweight body/standard chassis, as a competition car. The car was restored, to racing spec, in 1991, retaining the original body and chassis, and was repainted in its original colours of white with green stripes. It is to full FIA appendix K specification and is raced with the HSCC and 'Cloth Cap' series in the UK. We have an entry for the 2002 Goodwood Revival Meeting in September, where we will be competing in the Fordwater Trophy.
