History: The car is very original, and still used regularly. Peter Scott
owned it since 1991, prior to which it was owned by one family from West
Yorkshire who had the car from new until 1990 when it was sold-on through two
dealers. It had been rather poorly re-sprayed, and I spent a vast amount of
time rubbing-down and polishing the paintwork. Otherwise (apart from being
rather "un-loved" at that time), the car required very little work,
and fortunately the chassis was (and still is) in good condition. Work
undertaken: In 1991/92 Peter Scott had the brakes and the suspension
overhauled, and the 48-spoke wheels re-stoved. The
car has been carefully maintained, and serviced in the Spring each year by an
MG specialist in the Bournemouth area. In 2002, while the car was being
serviced and the clutch replaced, the original MGA 1,588cc engine
was converted to run on unleaded petrol. Original features: All the
"period" details are present and correct: the original leather seats,
original carpets and headlining, badges and chrome trim, opening quarter-light
windows, and all the instruments and the valve radio work ! It was bought by
Francisco Garcia in 2003.
Further details: The car is well-known in the TVR Car Club, and has won
several Club awards.
