The bad weather somewhat dampend the spirits, but the rally started as chedueled. Most of the Brits decided to stay in bed for a while, as the day before had started rather early. We spend most of the afternoon recovering tents that where about to blow away. At the end of the afternoon the wind decided to get a bit less and we figured we could go into town for a bite to eat. When we where about to turn out of our field of the campsite, I saw my tent collapse in a sudden windgust followed by a lot of rain. One of the carbon fibre poles had just snapped and we could just keep my stuff from getting wet by chucking it all in the pickup.
First stop in town was the chinese restaurant. Our group was about 20 people in size and as soon as i stepped through the front door of the place i realissed that it might be a problem. I'd signed up to do the translating for the trip and this was going to be my first challenge. The people from the restaurant spoke like 4 words of dutch. We could not get in, so on to the next place. A egyptian grill-room. These people could speak some more dutch, so ordering went quite easily. By the time the food came to the table we still ended up with a wrong plate, but it was all sorted in the end.
I crashed in Steve Saunders' camper for the night and i could borrow Ramon's tent for the rest of the trip! (thanks guys)
