The Dutch vintage VW club (LVWCN) happend to have their annual spring meeting on the weekend before the show in Hannover and as I'm a member of the LVWCN and the SSVC, I decided to invite the british convoy to come to our show. (it would also be an easy way for me to catch up with the group before they left for Belgium and Germany)
The forecast for that weekend was really bad, but real hardcore bus freaks don't care. I left my house in the south-west on saturday morning and the wind kept the top speed really low. It took me over 3 hours to do the 220km to Belfeld in the south-east.
All the usual people were already at the show when I finally showed up (me getting lost in Eindhoven didn't really help :-). The SSVC convoy was due to arrive around 15:30 from Oostend, so we played around with Hans Sprenkels new toy: a '79 cherry picker.
When the convoy still haddend arrived at 18:00 I got a bit worried, but when I heard this siren around 18:30 I knew it was time to get out of my tent and welcome the gang :-) That was definately not the last time we'd hear Chewies ambulance. The bad weather caused some problems with the ferries and they got diverted to Calais, which meant an extra long drive.

The rest of the night was spend with the big barbeque and the so called ghost-walk. It's a walk through a dark forrest with all kinds of special effects. The bloke with the chainsaw was probably the best bit.
