The story of Elly de Koster's life has been told many times in articles and other works concerning her bookplate art.
Her competition bookplates landed among the selected ones, were shown at many exhibitions and printed numerous times in catalogues.
Her choice of motives is remarkably broad. There is of course a predilection for nature, animals and plants from land and sea.
But also other motives are highly interesting, children, women and (also erotic) nude figures literary motives (particularly folk tales) and music theatre and so on.
Colours play an important role in her works.
The colours are carefully chosen and they strengthen the impression.
